A Day at the Fair

October 3, 2009

The weather today couldn’t have been better for the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair. The festivities started for me at a party one street from the Fair. Everyone there has been living in the beach cities for many years and has made the Fair one of their must-do events. The home was recently remodeled and looked fantastic. I left before most, but they all made their way down the hill to the Fair eventually.

The Fair has something for everyone. The Beer Garden was absolutely packed and is consistently a highlight for many people every year. In fact, the food area, arts and crafts area, and the kid’s areas were all crowded today. I chatted with several friends and managed to go the entire day without discussing real estate with one exception. I ran into a long time friend who also owns a real estate company, but with a major difference. He just hired his 52nd agent. I remember when he had eight. Congratulations to him, especially given that sales are off from their highs in every area locally.

A fun day in Manhattan Beach. I remember my first time at the Fair way back in 1987. It’s changed, but not all that much. A reminder of how much fun it can be when an entire community comes out to celebrate…
